The Norwegian success story of body from Carrus and chassis from Scania had come to an end. But now that Volvo have sold the last remaining Carrus factory in Finland, who knows if the concept will return again in a few years.

3 august 2009 - Førde, Firda Billag garage. The new bus on the express route between Førde and Oslo. This is a replacement for one that was delivered in January 2008, that was so stiff in the frame that it was returned to the factory and is probably recycled now. Clearly Scania had done something wrong when they released the new OmniExpress model, and they have now changed how the buses are made, so they are apparently much better. This is also the second known K480 in Norway. And ... "ta-da" ... this pic is shot number 35 000 on my current camera. ;)

3 august 2009 - Førde, Firda Billag garage. This is the first and so far only Lahti Scala in Norway. Unfortunately it is bought for service on a 62km route on quite rough roads, so it`s not very popular amongst the passengers. Perhaps has the need to make buses available for physically impaired people gone a bit too far? This is also the only K380UB I`ve ever heard of. 380 horses in a low entry bus is not the most common, even if it`s a long one.

13 june 2004 - Oslo, Majorstuen. Tutejsze metro raz używa trzeciej szyny, a raz sieci górnej. Stare wagony mają tę zaletę że w czasie jazdy można stać przy przedniej szybie. W oddali zdjęcia widać rozebraną obecnie skocznię Holmenkollen znaną z licznych triumfów Adama M.

july 2007 - Drammen (Norwegia), Bragernes Torg. Tym wozem jeździ bardzo chamski kierowca. Kiedy kilka lat temu (2005 r.) chciałem pofocić wnętrze autobusu na pętli, wygonił mnie twierdząc że teraz musi wywietrzyć pojazd. W rzeczywistości poszedł sobie pogadać z kumplem. Cóż - nie spodziewałem się że pierwszego buraka spotkam akurat w Norwegii. Ale przynajmniej jego zmiennik zrehabiltował się za kilka dni - kiedy go fociłem specjalnie zwolnił i mi pomachał ;)

2 june 2008 - Trondheim, Vegamot, Voll gård. This bus was at that time on test for Team Trafikk, and on that day I got to try a Solaris for the first time as a passenger. I was downtown when I found out that they had put it on one of the routes I could take to my flat. And this was on the longest route of them all, which was a great opportunity for testing it. In general I liked it just as good as any other comparable bus I've tried, but there were two things that annoyed me. The DAF engine was way too loud, and had a pitch that was more annoying than other engines I'm used to. The other thing I didn't like was that the alarm sounds when the doors were closing were way too loud. They were almost hurting in my ears. But I guess this can be adjusted. Other than that I like the looks of these buses, and the Jamnik character is really nice, giving them a lot more personality than other buses. The picture was taken after I leaped out of it just outside my flat.

july 2007 - Drammen (Norwegia), Bragernes Torg. Główny rynek w centrum miasta. Może wygląda to dość niepozornie ale w kompleksie kilkudziesięciu budowli (starych i nowych), które ciągną się wzdłuż ulicy w tle, znajduje się wielkie centrum handlowe. Muszę przyznać, że po raz pierwszy spotkałem się z taką adaptacją zabudowy staromiejskiej.

2 july 2008 - Midtre Gauldal, Støren, Gauldal Billag garage. On the outside this may look nice, but the inside is totally burned after a smoker managed to set fire to the toilet. After this picture was taken it was returned to the factory in Finland and rebuilt, and is now in traffic in Finland.
