Stacja metra Rogier

26 may 2022 - Bruksela, Rogier. Godny uwagi fragment węzła przesiadkowego. Z poziomu powyżej korzystają linie metra 2 i 6, na samym dole jeździ premetro, czyli linie tramwajowe 3 i 4, a za moimi plecami kończą trasę "zwyczajne" linie tramwajowe 25 i 55.

Yutong U12

19 october 2019 - Bruksela, Expo.

1 may 2014 - Bruxelles/Brussel - Rue Theodore Verhaegen: A last look at museum car #5008, which was built specifically for Line 81, shown here on the occasion of its centenary cemebrations. At this point, there is a long and busy street leading up from Gare du Midi to Barriere.

STIB 9000 Series #9079

1 may 2014 - Bruxelles/Brussel - Rue Theodore Verhaegen: 1960s museum 4-wheeler #9079 runs down the hill from Barriere towards Gare du Midi. Ths photo isn`t crooked - the hill here is quite steep! I don`t know how good are the brakes on this vehicle, but it doesn`t have much motor power, being simply a 1930s Standard tram underneath the modern-looking bodywork.

STIB 4000 Series #4032

1 may 2014 - Bruxelles/Brussel - Barriere St Gilles: Here, museum tram #4032 has reached the celebrated Barriere roundabout on a Line 81 centenary journey. The track layout here is remarkable - trams coming up the hill from the direction of Gare du Midi and needing to turn right into Park Lane must make a 450 degree turn, as the angle is just too sharp.

STIB 9000 Series #9079

1 may 2014 - Bruxelles/Brussel - Avenue de la Chasse: Another museum tram running as part of the Line 81 centenary celebrations was this 9000-series 4-wheeler. These trams were built in the STIB workshops using the underframes of 1930s Standard cars mounted on modern, PCC-style bodies. They weren`t very successful, lasting in service only a few years until better vehicles came along - in particular, they were extremely noisy on curves because of having only two azles.

STIB 4000 Series #4032

1 may 2014 - Bruxelles/Brussel - Avenue Victor Jacobs: Car #4032 again on a journey from Montgomery to the city centre on the day that Line 81 was celebrated with the special operation of historic trams. This vehicle was part of a small series built in the STIB workshops in the 1960s, using the frames of two old 1930s trams and new bodywork. They weren`t very successful, being slow and noisy, so were withdrawn in the early 1970s.

La Dyle / ACEC #5008

1 may 2014 - Bruxelles/Brussel - Rue du Bailli: More pictures from the 2014 celebration of Line 81 of the Brussels tramway. These particular cars were actually bought specifically to work this line and did so from 1935 until they were replaced by PCC cars in 1971. They were very powerful and comfortable for the time.

TB Standard #1064

1 may 2014 - Bruksela - Merode. Napisałbym, że był to całkiem udany, weekendowy wypad, ale nie mam porównania. Pierwszego dnia nawinął się w każdym razie taki historyczny skład.

Miscellaneous vehicles #984

20 april 2013 - Bruxelles, Musée du Tram

Windhoff SF-50 #2

7 october 2012 - Bruxelles/Brussel (BE) – Brusselsesteenweg. Another much-anticipated appearance was this HUGE works train from the current STIB fleet – Windhoff tractors #1 and #2, with trailer #101 sandwiched between them. The whole contraption must be at least 50 metres long! These impressive beasts are often seen around the network, although I don’t think they usually run all coupled together, as seen here.

TB Standard #59

7 october 2012 - Bruxelles/Brussel (BE) – Brusselsesteenweg. Standards #55 and #59 pass one another on the way to Tervuren. Normal passenger trams had to take a back seat during the celebration parade.

Brill 'Barnum'snow sweeper #95

7 october 2012 - Bruxelles/Brussel (BE) – de Villalobar. The undoubted star of the show – a 1904 snowbroom, built by the J G Brill company in Philadelphia, USA and hidden away here for almost forty years – this was its first outing since the 1970s. This style of snowbroom was a regular item in the Brill catalogue and was supplied to a number of tramways around the world, but this one is now a rare survivor. Super!

4-wheeled motor tram #272

7 october 2012 - Bruxelles/Brussel (BE) – de Villalobar. Next, a much older, four-wheeled tram from 1927 with its own goods trailer – these are normally housed in the Transport Museum and don’t often get an outing. Note the trolley pole, which was a standard feature in Bruxelles until comparatively recently. The city also had several lines equipped with underground conduit current collection, but this has all now gone.

TB Standard #55

7 october 2012 - Bruxelles/Brussel (BE) – de Villalobar. A busy moment during the parade, as another 1930s Standard conversion runs among normal service trams on the long forest line to Tervuren. This line seems to have limitless power supplies and can support countless trams, all moving at once! The overhead wire is also rather special, being suitable for pantographs, trolley poles or bow collectors without restriction, so older trams from the Museum get regular outings.

TB Standard #7

7 october 2012 - Bruxelles/Brussel (BE) – de Villalobar. The amazing Transport Museum at Wolowe depot can always be relied on to put on a good show when operations shut down for the winter. This year, one special event was a very interesting parade of works cars, both from the Museum and from those still used by the tramway operator (STIB), including some which had not run for some years. Here is tram #7, converted from a 1930s Brussels Standard tram in 1970 and still used by STIB as a tow car.

Brossel / Paul D`Heure / ACEC #6023

12 august 2012 - Bruksela, Muzeum Tramwajowe.

Société Franco-Belge #830

25 march 2012 - Brussel/Bruxelles (BE) – depot/zajezdnia Woluwe. Whilst the conductor turns the trolley pole, a lovely old four-wheeler of the Tramways Bruxellois waits at the combined depot and tram museum for a load of passengers to Tervueren, along the line used regularly by the museum to run its trams in normal service. For this reason, the overhead lines in this area are suitable for both pantograph and trolley pole operation.

TB Standard #1609

25 march 2012 - Brussel/Bruxelles (BE) – Avenue de Tervueren. Last Sunday was one of the special days of the Bruxelles tramway calendar – the reopening of their tram museum after the winter and a chance to take over the normal service on lines to Tervueren and Stokkel with around thirty of the museum’s historic trams. Here, just some of the participants are line up, ready to begin the afternoon service.

Jonckheere #HE 710

19 september 2010 - Bruxelles/Brussel (BE) - Avenue de Tervuren. UITP 125th Anniversary celebrations. This Standard car is fitted with a pantograph, so it can go anywhere in the city and isn't just restricted to the Tervuren ine. Originally, it would have had a trolley pole. Line 45 has now disappeared.

La Dyle / ACEC #5016

19 september 2010 - Bruxelles/Brussel (BE) - Avenue de Tervuren. UITP 125th Anniversary celebrations. One of the Bruxelles Standard bogie cars, which were once numerous. The destination screen shows that Line 44 once ran all the way from Tervuren to the city centre.

Mercedes-Benz Unimog II #545

19 september 2010 - Bruxelles/Brussel (BE) - Avenue de Tervuren. UITP 125th Anniversary celebrations. This general-purpose breakdown truck looks ready for almost anything. In the event of a tram in trouble, it can simply push it out of the way (or even back to the nearest depot),

La Dyle / ACEC #5025

2010 - Bruxelles/Brussel (BE) - Montgomery, Avenue de Broqueville. UITP 125th Anniversary celebrations. I hope no Health and Safety officer saw this! In UK, this would never be allowed.

Horse Omnibus #2

19 september 2010 - Bruxelles/Brussel (BE) - Woluwe, Musee du Tram. UITP 125th Anniversary celebrations. One of the very old Bruxelles horse buses is brought outside the museum for some fresh air. It didn't carry passengers, though - perhaps this was a good job, as it thinks it's a tram!

TB Standard #1609

19 september 2010 - Bruxelles/Brussel (BE) - Montgomery - Avenue de Tervuren. UITP 125th Anniversary celebrations. #1609 and trailer #604 load for another trip to Tervuren. As this was also a 'car-free' day in Bruxelles city, a two-minute serve was offered on Line 44 throughout the afternoon. STIB must have very strong power supplies - in some parts of TS in Silesia, the tram almost stops when just one other is travelling in the same section!

RELSE Type D tram #321

19 september 2010 - Bruxelles/Brussel (BE) - Montgomery - avenue G & J Martin. UITP 125th Anniversary celebrations. The long Liege-Seraing interurban car squeezes round into Rue Du Doc. The Liege district once had three tramway systems and two trolleybus nets - I wish I'd seen them. Now there are some plans to bring trams back in Liege city.

Werkspoor Drieasser #533

18 september 2010 - Bruxelles/Brussel (BE) – depot/zajezdnia Woluwe. UITP 125th Anniversary preparations. STIB normally runs both pantograph and trolley-equipped cars between here and Terveuren – a bow collector must have been a new experience for them, but it didn’t seem to matter! If one of these ‘foreign’ trams had brought down the overhead wires, the whole show would have to be stopped, I guess.

2-axle tram #144

18 september 2010 - Bruxelles/Brussel (BE) – depot/zajezdnia Woluwe. UITP 125th Anniversary preparations. The little Nantes car stands alongside a PCC which will also run in service tomorrow.

Werkspoor Drieasser #533

18 september 2010 - Bruxelles/Brussel (BE) – depot/zajezdnia Woluwe. UITP 125th Anniversary preparations. Some of the visiting trams stand outside the depot ready for their big day tomorrow, including the attractive three-axle Amsterdam car.

TB Standard #1064

19 september 2010 - Bruxelles/Brussel (BE) – Rue de Doc. Bruxelles Standard car 1064 and matching trailer 102 cross Avenue de Broqueville to reach the Montgomery surface turning loop. This track avoids the subway at Montgomery (used by normal service trams on Lines 39 and 44) and provides a connection to the rest of the network.

Lorka #123

18 september 2010 - Bruxelles/Brussel (BE) – depot/zajezdnia Woluwe. This rail carrier has foot pedals (suggesting some type of engine underneath that cover) and something very strange – a STEERING WHEEL! WTF? Who ever saw a steering wheel on a tram, and what is it for? Maybe someone out there can tell us……..

TB Standard #55

18 september 2010 - Bruxelles/Brussel (BE) – depot/zajezdnia Woluwe. More of the STIB museum trams in Woluwe depot. As several trams were out in special service for the UITP anniversary celebrations, there was room to take pictures of trams which would normally be lined up very close together. #55 is a Bruxelles Standard car, later used as a snowplough, #9098 is a little 2-axle car of 1960 with a PCC-style body and #1505, which was converted to a one-man car in 1967, although the design originally dates back to 1935.

TB Standard #46

18 september 2010 - Bruxelles/Brussel (BE) – depot/zajezdnia Woluwe. STIB has a quite amazing number of operational museum trams, as well as those in the adjoining museum. Here, works car conversion #46 (ex-1205) stands with Bruxelles Standard tams 1002, 1259 and 1064 and PCC 7065.

4-wheeled motor tram #1305

18 september 2010 - Bruxelles/Brussel (BE) – depot/zajezdnia Woluwe. A general view of the ‘working museum‘ depot at Woluwe, where the numerous STIB historic trams are housed. Ezamples run in the city streets every weekend, except in winter - so many old trams live here, they normally fill these eight tracks, four or five cars deep!

Brossel A96 DAR / Van Hool #8024

19 september 2010 - Bruxelles/Brussel - Avenue de Terveuren. Another Brossel/Leyland/Van Hool from the huge STIB museum fleet - they have more preserved buses than many companies have operating buses (twenty or more).

Lohner M #4098

19 september 2010 - Bruxelles/Brussel - Terveuren, Albertlaan. UITP 125 Years Anniversary - one amazing day. Bringing a touch of colour to the Terveuren forest was this 1929 Lohner car from Wien. So, that's one picture of each of the visiting trams - I hope you enjoyed them! Maybe we will never see such an ambitious event ever again?

RELSE Type D tram #321

19 september 2010 - Bruxelles/Brussel - Terveuren, Albertlaan. UITP 125 Years Anniversary - one amazing day. I photographed this nice interurban in the Natalis transport museum last year, but didn't realise it was still operational. Here it is in full flight along Bruxelles Line 44, having escaped for the weekend.

Bogie tram #505

19 september 2010 - Bruxelles/Brussel - Terveuren, Albertlaan. UITP 125 Years Anniversary - one amazing day. Probably the star of the show was this big Paris centre-entrance car of 1907. This ran from 1936 to 1964 on the rather odd steelworks tramway in Hagondange, France, and I think now belongs to the AMTUIR museum group in Paris. Despite being over 100 years old, it ran with huge loads of passengers all day.

2-axle tram #144

19 september 2010 - Bruxelles/Brussel - Musee du Tram, Woluwe. UITP 125 Years Anniversary - one amazing day. I don't have much information about this little four-wheeler from Nantes, seen here waiting to enter service. Nantes now has a second-generation tramway system (the first trams here ran from 1879 to 1985), so the current operator SEMITAM may operate this old tram - I don't know.

Werkspoor Drieasser #533

19 september 2010 - Bruxelles/Brussel - Terveuren, Albertlaan. UITP 125 Years Anniversary - one amazing day. On 19 September, Line 44 was taken over by museum trams from the extensive STIB museum collection. In addition, ten visiting trams ran in public service - see today's pictures. A unique occasion!

TB Standard #46

7 june 2009 - Bruxelles (BE) – depot/zajezdnia Woluwe. The earlier generation of Bruxelles works cars, converted from ‘Standard’ class trams of the 1930s, have now nearly all been replaced by motor transport or by converted PCCs. Car 46, show here, is now just a museum exhibit.

4-wheeled motor tram #984

7 june 2009 - Bruxelles (BE) – Avenue de Tervueren. Museum tram 984 and open ‘baladeuse’ trailer 301 run along the reserved track towards Montgomery. This line is one of the few in Bruxelles equipped for both pantograph and trolley pole operation, so that museum trams can run here.

Windhoff SF-50 #1

8 june 2009 - Bruxelles (BE) – zajezdnia/depot Haren. The Windhoff is a modular design and can carry a crane or other fittings as required. The Bruxelles pair have matching trailers that can be used in any combination.

Windhoff SF-50 #2

8 june 2009 - Bruxelles (BE) – zajezdnia/depot Haren. The old Bruxelles works cars are being replaced by converted PCCs and by two smart new Windhoff multi-purpose diesels – this is #2.

TB Standard #31

8 june 2009 - Bruxelles (BE) – zajezdnia/depot Haren. This must be the last active Bruxelles ‘Standard’ tram from the 1300/1400 series, converted to a works car many years ago. There were once many of these, but now they are almost all gone.

4-wheeled motor tram #984

7 june 2009 - Bruxelles (BE) – Avenue Terveuren. Trees and matching tram - a motor and trailer from the Woluwe museum.

STIB 4000 Series #4032

7 june 2009 - Bruxelles (BE) – Flagey. Another view of #4052, showing the door arrangements. From this angle, you can see the two old-fashioned, four-wheel trucks that were used as a basis. It looks very much like a PCC, but isn’t!

STIB 4000 Series #4032

7 june 2009 - Bruxelles (BE) – Place Royale. The museum ‘two-rooms-and-a-bath’ articulated car on a gloomy day near the Royal Palace. These trams were built by STIB in 1965 with new bodies resembling PCCs, but with mechanical and electrical parts from two much older ‘Standard’ cars.

FIAT 420HA-ST2 Van Hool #8366

7 june 2009 - Schepdaal (BE). This Fiat bus from the Bruxelles museum collection still operates tourist services in the city. It’s seen here at the Schepdaal SNCV/NMBS Vicinal tramway museum, which was open to the public for some years, but is now a store – I’ll show some pictures of the trams inside another day. Schepdaal was once a tram depot on the line from Bruxelles to Ninove.

TB Standard #1064

27 march 2009 - Bruxelles (BE) – Ban Eik. STIB museum car #1064 at the end of the line. This track was once an electric railway and continued, behind the tram, to Terveuren, where tram line 44 now terminates. Now it’s a high speed tramway.

STIB 9000 Series #9079

27 march 2009 - Bruxelles (BE) – Rue Francois Gay. The 9000 series were built on old ‘standard’4-wheel tram chassis to resemble the first Belgian PCC cars (which they weren’t).
